Cairoli, Reed and Coenen brothers in Supercross Paris
It will be the 38th edition of the Paris Supercross, the oldest and most important European SX that has done everything it can to retain a place on the 2021 calendar. The new date for this event will be Saturday, November 27, 2021.
SX1
He has already carried the title “King of Paris” twice and now he will attempt to win for a third time. We are talking about Marvin Musquin, the winner of the penultimate race of this year's AMA Supercross.
Justin Brayton, who travels to Europe or Australia every winter and was a winner in Paris and Geneva, will be one of the contenders. Also in contention are Chad Reed returning from retirement for one last trip to Paris, Justin Boggle, Ryan Sipes, Josh Hill, Alex Martin, Cole Seely and Dylan Wright, the Canadian SX champion.
A number of MXGP top riders will also make an appearance. Antonio Cairoli, who will retire from racing at the end of the season, will head to Paris. He once rode a race in Bercy in the past. Romain Febvre, the last French MXGP world champion, is also in the field.
The French team will be strong as usual with all the key players from the SX including Maxime Desprey, Cédric Soubeyras, Thomas Ramette, Greg Aranda, Anthony Bourdon, Adrien Escoffier and many others.
SX2
Maxime Renaux, the current leader in the MX2 World Championship, takes up the challenge of racing in the SX2 class. He will compete against some American Supercross specialists such as Vince Friese, Kyle Peters (unbeatable in Arenacross this season), Ty Masterpool and all the riders from the French SX Tour. Then there are also some well-known wild cards participating in Paris such as Brian Hsu, Quentin Prugnières and the young Coenen brothers.
FMX show
The Paris Supercross cannot do without a big FMX show. Australian Josh Sheehan and his crew have been hired for this purpose. He will provide the show between the series with his companions Maikel Melero (three-time FMX champion), Matt Rebeaud (on his Red Bull Alta) and Nicolas Texier.
