Danée Gelissen takes her first World Cup points
After the Spanish GP we see happy faces at Danee Gelissen and her supervisors. The Limburg woman has managed to get her first Grand Prix points! The KTM rider finished 25th in the first moto in Arroyomolinos after spending a long time in the points. In the second heat, the 15-year-old lady finished 16th very neatly, putting herself in the books.
Danée Gelissen:
“Finally getting my first World Cup points, I'm very happy with that! The day started very well with the 13th fastest time in qualifying. The first heat went very well for a long time, but the unlucky devil was slightly faster. In the initial phase I was in 16th place but I made a mistake. Due to damage to my front brake I made another mistake but I did not want to leave the race. I finished 25th in the heat so no points. The start in the second moto was even better and I was in the top ten! I quickly found a good pace and crossed the finish line in 16th place. That means points, but I also learned a lot during this competition. I am going to the final in Italy with confidence.”
