Bax/Musset win heat 1 with force majeure during GP Sidecars Kramolin!
Bax/Musset took a great head-to-tail victory in Kramolin, Czech Republic, during the first Grand Prix heat. Hermans/Janssens came second and Vanluchene/Bax came a distant third.
Under beautiful conditions, the spectators present saw the holeshot for Bax/Musset, who dived into the first corners side by side with Willemsen/Lebraton. Behind this we saw Vanluchene, Hermans, Keuben and Veldman. Already in the first round, Vanluchene/Bax moved to second place and Veldman/Cermak to fourth place.
Willemsen on third quickly had team Hermans breathing down his neck. Hermans was clearly faster, but you can't just pass the experienced Willemsen! In the fourth lap Hermans saw the opportunity to catch Willemsen/Lebraton during the quick dismounts at the back of the circuit. A little later Veldman/Cermak also passed team Willemsen, but Hermans had already flown to third, what a name!
At the front it was Bax/Musset in the lead halfway through the race with Vanluchene/Bax in second place at three seconds. But soon Hermans/Janssens came rushing towards the top.
They drove towards Vanluchene/Bax within five minutes and were able to take second place almost immediately in the last twists and turns of the circuit! Now the leading position of Bax/Musset was being hunted. However, the leaders rode unparalleled tight and they never let Hermans/Janssens get closer than seven seconds.
Bax/Musset finished with an impressive head-to-tail victory during the first heat in Kramolin. Hermans/Janssens were then satisfied with their race as second.
Vanluchene/Bax then came in third, more than 20 seconds behind the leaders, with Veldman/Cermak in fourth. In the final phase, Varik/Kunnas finished fifth at the expense of Willemsen/Lebraton, who would eventually finish sixth. Keuben, with substitute baking player Dion Rietman, finished seventh, followed by the Swiss Heinzer/Schelbert in eighth. After a big swing on the starting field, Sanders/Rostingt finished ninth and the top ten was closed by Leferink/Beleckas. Peter Steegmans allowed his son Jarno to make his debut in the GP in the arena and they finished in thirteenth place. Weijers/Van der Putten at fourteen, Van der Lagemaat/De Veene at fifteen, Van der Schraelen/Mans at eighteen and Wesselink/Van Galen at twenty would also take points back to the Benelux that were handed out after the first Czech GP heat .
At the front, the World Cup standings remain as exciting as ever with Vanluchene/Bax, Veldman/Cermak and Bax/Musset in the top three and all within shooting distance.
