Van de Ven on the podium, Duncan wins again!
The third race of the FIM WMX World Championship was won by Courtney Duncan. With a second and first place she wins the Turkish Grand Prix, as she did two years ago. Kiara Fontanesi (1-2) finished second today ahead of Nancy van de Ven (4-3). Lynn Valk (9-7) finished seventh today and Shana van der Vlist (6-10) had to be satisfied with ninth place. In the standings, Van der Vlist loses the lead to Duncan who takes back the 'Redplate'.

In the time training Fontanesi was by far the fastest, but the sprint to the first corner is for Papenmeier. The German is followed by Van de Ven and Verstappen. Duncan is clearly in a hurry because the New Zealander works her way to first place in the first round! She starts the first full lap with an almost two second lead. Fontanesi sees the danger and in the second laps she manages to take second place at the expense of Papenmeier. Duncan's lead continues to increase and she manages to build it up to no less than six seconds. In the second half of the match things turned around as the six-time champion started to reduce the deficit and after more than 15 minutes Fontanesi was there. The lady from Parma takes over and Duncan has no answer. When the Kawasaki rider ends up off the track, the battle is over. The first round is won by Fontanesi ahead of Duncan and Verstappen. The Belgian performs very well and manages to keep Van de Ven behind him. De Vlissingen comes fourth ahead of Papenmeier. Van de Vlist crosses the finish line in sixth place and Lynn Valk takes ninth place. No points for Jenitty Van der Beek (22nd) and Britt Jans-Beken does not reach the finish.

Van de Ven seems to get the best start in the second round, but teammate Elisa Galvagno comes around the outside to take the lead! Papenmeier follows in third place ahead of Duncan and Fontanesi. There is immediately a duel between the Ceres 17 Racing drivers and Fontanesi immediately climbs to third place! Then Galvagno chooses the inside corner where Van de Ven goes around the outside and takes over the lead. Before completing the first round, Fontanesi managed to pass her compatriot for second place. The GasGas driver clearly feels good on the circuit and can quickly displace Van de Ven from the lead. Duncan also tries to pass but Van de Ven hits back. A little later it is Duncan in second place ahead of Van de Ven. He cannot keep up with the pace at the front and has to settle for third place. Duncan follows the leader at the front, but attacks don't seem to be an option. However, the reigning champion thinks differently about this because in the last round she puts the pressure on. With success because in the last round she surprises Fontanesi and the Shot-dressed lady takes the victory. Fontanesi comes second ahead of Van de Ven, Papenmeier and Verstappen. Valk now crosses the finish line in seventh place and Van der Vlist is now tenth. The Apeldoorn native has problems in the initial phase, which is why she started the match in 18th position. She loses the lead in the standings to Duncan. Van der Beek again crosses the finish line in 22nd place and Jans-Beken does not take action.
