Great Liam Everts wins ADAC Youngster Cup!
With a 2-1-1 score, Liam Everts took the lead in the ADAC Youngster Cup in Fürstlich Drehna. Liamski had to fight back every time today to win the heat. The Swiss Mike Gwerder (1-2-3) and the Austrian Marcel Stauffer (3-3-5) were allowed on the podium.
Championship leader Maximilian Spies had to settle for fourth place today. The official Fantic pilot remains at the top of the ADAC Youngster Cup rankings. Stauffer came within 5 points.
Gwerder lights the fuse
WZ Racing KTM's Mike Gwerder never looked back after his holeshot yesterday. Figuratively at least. Spies was second but made a mistake, giving Everts the 22 points. The young Belgian came close to taking the victory as he finished in the wheel of Gwerder. Marcel Stauffer (KTM) finished third ahead of Spies and Noah Ludwig (KTM).
Double hit for Liamski
In the second series, lead starter Mike Gwerder (KTM) also led the field, but Liam Everts (KTM) had moved nicely to the front and increased the pressure. Everts also finished the job and now won with a lead of 1,1 seconds. The regular Stauffer finished third, albeit at a considerable distance from the Everts-Gwerder duo.
Oriol Oliver (WZ Racing) rode to his best ADAC result ahead of Ludwig (KTM) and Marnique Appelt (KTM). Spies, the championship leader, had fallen at the start but recovered from the back to P-10
In the final series Everts sent his KTM to the holeshot. However, he had to give up the lead to Gwerder who continued to push hard. Liam then coped excellently. He also put things in order before half the race. Without a doubt a brilliant victory for Everts who crossed the finish line almost 5 seconds ahead of Max Spies. Gwerder was just able to hold off South African Camden Mc Lellan (BT Racing) for P4.
