ISDE: Drama for the French
Josep Garcia went wild again on the penultimate day. The Spanish scratch leader won four of the five tests. It was not news that Italy was heading for victory in both the World Trophy and the Junior World Trophy. France's bad luck.
The lightning-fast Josep Garcia only had to give up one test. In the first cross test of the day, Andrea Verona was 1,73 (!) seconds faster than Garcia.
Briefly noted
- The French were still in contention with the US and Sweden to claim the final podium place. However, Team France saw that dream shattered by falls by Théo Espinasse and Hugo Blanjoue. Both had to be taken to hospital due to high-speed crashes. Bon rétablissement les gars!
- Unfortunately, the bad news from the American Junior camp was also confirmed today. Austin Walton had broken his shoulder, which also forced the American Juniors to throw in the towel.
- Freed from the pressure to drive safely, American Dante Oliveira recorded top times. The Red Bull KTM rider was the best Junior with a good 5th time.
- The unapproachable Josep Garcia (photo above) also did not always stick to two wheels. Even he hit the ground a few times today.
- The first test of the day, the Stellara Cross Test, was canceled due to the dust. To make matters worse, there was no wind. This test was held later in the day when, fortunately, the wind had arisen.
- The Swede Mikael Persson was again third after Garcia and Verona.
- Tomorrow there is the final cross test and then the 2021 International Six Days Enduro is over again.
