Hermans/Janssens win the first ONK heat in Lierop!
Koen Hermans and Glenn Janssens managed to win the first heat of the ONK Sidecar Masters in Lierop. Bax/Musset came second and Veldman/Cermak came in third.
The holeshot went to Willemsen/Lebraton, who were immediately able to gain a number of meters from Bax/Musset, Veldman/Cermak, Weijers/Van der Putten and Hermans Janssens. However, after the first straight stretch in the forest things went wrong for Willemsen who crashed hard! In that situation, Bax took the lead and Hermans came out of the woods in second. However, Hermans/Janssens had evil plans and took the lead from Bax in the second round. Team Hermans was able to hold on to this throughout the heat, despite frantic attempts by Bax/Musset to take back the lead. Like a knife through warm butter, the two sidecars passed all the stragglers in the Hersel forest with Hermans/Janssens as the winner and Bax/Musset in second place. Veldman/Cermak then crossed the finish line in third place, with Van Werven/Van den Boogaart in fourth, Keuben/Debruyne in fifth and Kops/Horton, after first falling back from P4, pulled back nicely to sixth.
