Broken collarbone for Tim Gajser
Tim Gajser fell during training in Croatia last Friday and broke his collarbone. The World Cup leader already underwent surgery on Saturday, but he will start this weekend in Riola Sardo!
The strong Slovenian is on the hunt for his fifth world title this season. It would be his fourth title in the premier class.
Although this report has not been officially confirmed by Honda, several reliable sources have indicated that Gajser - despite his broken collarbone - will indeed ride in Sardinia this weekend.
At the moment, 'Tiga' has a 28 point lead over Romain Febvre. He is in turn followed by Tony Cairoli by 1 point. Herlings and Prado are respectively 5 and 11 points behind TC222. In short, every point counts. It is therefore clear that a half-strength GP could be a turning point for Gajser in the battle for the MXGP world title.
