The similarities between Cairoli and Rossi
Earlier this week it was announced that Antonio Cairoli will retire from motocross racing after this season. After 18 seasons in the Grand Prix, he thinks it's been nice. The Italian has several similarities with compatriot and good friend Valentino Rossi, who also calls it a day after this season.
Just like the 42-year-old Rossi, Cairoli has no fewer than nine world titles to his name. Only Stefan Everts is more successful with ten world titles! It should be noted that Cairoli is currently still in the race for his tenth.
Rossi and Cairoli have a passion for fast cars. Both race on the circuits and sometimes start in a rally. Cairoli is also the ambassador for the luxury car brand Lamborghini. They managed to capitalize on their love for speed with a test drive in a Formula 1 car.
Cairoli is the father of son Chase, whom he had with his Dutch wife Jill Cairoli-Cox. Rossi will soon be the father of a daughter, so he will be responsible for a family.
And finally, Cairoli is the first MXGP rider with his own clothing line RACR. Rossi has the universally known VR46 products.
