Bogers celebrates his birthday with seventh place
Brian Bogers celebrated his 25th birthday in Sardinia last Sunday. The GasGas driver also gave himself a lot of Grand Prix points! The Eindhoven native finished seventh during the Grand Prix on the tough sand circuit of Riola Sardo. Bogers and Pauls Jonass look back on this grueling day here.
Brian Bogers:
“I really enjoyed riding in the sand again today. My first moto was very good. I started in eighth place and worked my way up to fifth place, which I was very happy with. I was hoping for more or the same in the second moto but I didn't get off to a good start and had to get forward from midfield. I managed to work my way up to ninth place quite quickly, but unfortunately I was unable to pass the rider in front of me because the track consisted of only 1 ideal line in many places. I couldn't get past him and I wasted a lot of energy doing so. A seventh place in the daily rankings is not that bad, but it could have been better."
Paul's Jonass:
"It wasn't my best day and I'm a little disappointed with my riding. After Turkey we did a lot of good work but I wasn't able to show it on the track today. The starts were good but in the first moto I came into contact with another rider. I was lucky that I could stay on the bike, but I lost a lot of places. It was a very tough job today and I am happy that I can leave here in good health. The next Grand Prix is in Teutschenthal and that is a track that I really like. I'm going there to achieve a good result."
