Heat 3 for Bax/Musset, Vanluchene/Bax win Estonian GP Sidecar!
Bax/Musset win the third heat in Estonia and therefore become third overall in Estonia. However, Vanluchene/Bax win the Estonian GP by finishing second in the final heat. Veldman/Cermak finished third in the third heat and overall second in Estonia with one point less than Vanluchene/Bax. In the World Cup standings it remains exciting with team Vanluchene, Veldman and Bax close together.
In the third heat there was a holeshot for Bax/Musset with Varik/Kunnas in second, Vanluchene/Bax in third and Veldman/Cermak in fourth. After just three turns, Vanluchene tried to catch the Est Varik, but this almost brought Veldman alongside when Vanluchene briefly came across a track. The teams touched each other slightly but everything continued to move happily. Shortly afterwards Vanluchene/Bax managed to outwit Varik/Kunnas. Veldman immediately tried to push through, but this did not work. Veldman/Cermak were stuck behind Varik and had to watch how Vanluchene could run away into the distance. After more than fifteen minutes of racing, 'the Frogg' Veldman finally saw his chance and took third place from home rider Varik.
At the front there was no problem for Bax/Musset, who had a lead of almost ten seconds over the second combination of Vanluchene/Bax. This is how they crossed the finish line with Bax/Musset as a deserved winner, just like in the second GP heat.
Vanluchene/Bax crossed the line in second place, narrowly missing the heat win but taking the overall GP victory in Estonia!
They did this just ahead of Veldman/Cermak who came in third in this heat and thus scored just one point less in total in Estonia than Vanluchene/Bax.
Veldman/Cermak finished second overall in Estonia.
Bax/Musset were then placed third on the day's podium after all three heats in Estonia.
Hermans/Janssens scored fifth place in the third heat, team Keuben sixth and team Willemsen took seventh place. Leferink finished ninth and Kops/Horton finished tenth. Van der Lagemaat (14th), Wesselink (15th) and Van der Veldt/Van der Veldt (18th) also scored points. Van Werven/Van den Boogaart did not start in the third heat.
Vanluchene/Bax still lead the World Cup dance with 137 points. They are closely followed by Veldman/Cermak with only four points less than the leaders. In third place we see Bax/Musset with 120 points.
The next GP Sidecar Cross is October 9/10 in Kramolin.
