Barbieri world title, Lotte van Drunen 12th in Junior World Championships
Italian Mattia Barbieri has won the 85cc world title in Greece. The 14-year-old GasGas pilot finished third and first on the Megalopolis circuit. He took the title ahead of the Czech Vitezslav Marek (1-3) and the Hungarian Noel Zanocz (2-5).
Of the Lowlanders, only Lotte van Drunen managed to get into the points. The South Holland rider finished ninth and thirteenth during the heats, meaning she finished twelfth in the World Championship final standings. Both Mick Kennedy (22-26) and the Belgian Douwe Van Mechgelen (26-24) did not score any points.
