Surprising Belgian MXoN team: debut Liam Everts!
Traditionally, Team Belgium announced the selection for the Motocross of Nations during the Motorcross of Keiheuvel. Due to the cancellation of Jago Geerts, national coach Johan Boonen had to look for an unreleased trio!
The Motocross of Nations has never taken place so early in the season. Since the World Championship for national teams takes place this weekend on September 25 and 26 and there are still many GPs left, several top riders - whether or not forced by their team or brand - are choosing not to participate in the MXoN this year. Romain Febvre is one of them in the MXGP and Jago Geerts will also not participate in Mantova this year!
National coach Johan Boonen therefore selected Beta factory rider Jeremy Van Horebeek (MXGP), Brent Van Doninck (Open) and Liam Everts (MX2). For Everts (17) it will be his first participation in the Motocross of Nations. His first GP participation is planned for October.
