Vanluchene/Bax win 3rd heat and GP Jinin final victory
Marvin Vanluchene and Robbie Bax managed to win the third heat of the GP Sidecars in Jinin by force majeure. With this, she not only took victory in the third heat, but after their previous 1st and 2nd place in the other heats, she also took the total victory during the first Grand Prix Sidecars of 2021. Four minutes from the end, the fast Estonian even managed to take over third place from Bax/Musset, who in turn had Hermans/Janssens breathing down their necks. It remained that way at the finish with Varik/Kunnas in third, Bax/Musset in four and Hermans/Janssens in five. Just over half a minute before Varik, Veldman and Vanluchene had already crossed the line. Vanluchene/Bax were about ten seconds ahead of Veldman/Cermak and were resounding winners of the third heat and the Grand Prix in Jinin! Veldman, who suffered from blisters on his hands, wisely chose to consolidate and take second place in this heat and drive home with total determination. With a minimal difference of only 3 points in total until Vanluchene/Bax, Veldman/Cermak were able to return home satisfied. Bax/Musset then finished fourth, but were allowed to take the podium in third place, with a difference of fourteen points on winner Vanluchene/Bax.
