Team Belgium is ready for Farleigh Castle
On September 11 and 12 it is time again for the annual high mass for vintage crossers because everything is being prepared in Farleigh Castle for the Motocross of the Nations for Veterans. And those four great Belgians from 2019 are also there again.
These are Filip Van Dijck, Sven Breugelmans, Steve Ramon and Ken de Dycker. They won the 2019 edition with so much flair that they were promptly added to the participant lists again. Team manager Danny Scheers again expects a lot from the four fast Belgians, but also emphasizes that it is no easy task to send a team to England this year. Brexit and the corona crisis are causing a massive amount of paperwork, customs formalities and corona measures on the other side of the channel.
In any case, the Belgian delegation is ready for a new battle against old rivals from the US and England. That “clash” should have already taken place last year, but the corona crisis put a stop to that. Due to the concerns of Brexit and the corona crisis, the field of participants is a lot smaller than in previous years. Team USA, which has been strong every year, has changed a bit this year. This time it is Keith Johnson, Sean Hamblin, Mike Brown and Doug Dubach who descend on Farleigh Castle.
The British themselves also have a team that can go for victory. How about Mark Eastwood, Mervyn Anstie, Kurt Nicoll and Billy McKenzie. There are also a number of Belgians and Dutch people who participate individually in the side series. These are Erwin Budts, Pascal Delchambre, Mart Hink, Ronny Lambrechts, Danny Scheers, Bernard Stennier, Peter van den Broeck, Joris van den Eynde, David Lacasse, Wim Couwberghs, Paul Dijkstra, Ad Groffen and Alain Collin.
