Scott Smulders seizes power in Germany
BT Racing driver Scott Smulders ended his weekend in Dreetz perfectly. Smulders achieved a very strong three-on-three in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125! The German (2-4-2) and the Latvian Karlis Alberts Reisulis (7-3-3) finished second and third respectively.
The lead of 26 seconds with which Smulders crossed the finish line in the first moto spoke volumes. He was not the only Dutchman who felt good “Am Eichenweg”. Bradley Mesters fought his way to a good second place ahead of Karlis Alberts Reisulis.
In the second series Smulders made it easy for himself. He took the holeshot and never looked back! Although Mesters seemed to be on his way to P2 again, a fall threw a spanner in the works. Ultimately, the F&H Racing Shop driver had to settle for a disappointing 18th place. Polesitter Contantin Piller (Kosak KTM) now finished second ahead of Letten Reisulis and Lusis.
After a strong first day in which he finished 5th, things were not going well for Sem De Lange on Sunday. He only scored 9th place in race 1. From the Belgian side, Junior Bal collected four points in the first series today. With his hat trick in Dreetz, Scott Smulders also takes the lead in the general classification. In the standings, Smulders now has a 23 point lead over Constantin Piller.
