Monster Energy Yamaha MXGP over Lommel
The Grand Prix of Lommel did not go smoothly for the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing MXGP Team. Louis Vosters' trio had difficult matches under equally difficult circumstances. From Stedelijk Motocross Center Lommel, all three tell their story here after the sixth GP of the season.
Jeremy Seewer:
“The results could have been better. In the first moto I finished fifth but it could have been third without the mistakes. I went for glasses with tear-offs, but the rain caused water to get stuck behind them. After that I couldn't attack anymore and finished fifth. In the second moto I had to stop to avoid a falling rider. This ruined my good start. Then I made another mistake and ended up between the other riders, but I fought my way back to eighth place."
Ben Watson:
“In the first moto I got a pretty good start and I followed the leaders. After five or six laps it started to rain heavily, causing the rain to get behind my tear-offs. I stopped and put on new glasses. It wasn't ideal because I lost five or six places. When I got back on the track I felt good. I feel like I rode better today than my results showed."
Glenn Coldenhoff:
"It was a disappointing day. I felt good on the track in training, but I made a mistake at the start of the first heat and therefore had to start the race last. The conditions were very tough but that is no excuse. I made a mistake and then had a very difficult moto, which meant I could only get further than ninth place. In the second moto I had a good start, but I couldn't get a tear-off from the goggles, which caused me to come into contact with Herlings and fall. I had to come back from far away again. These results are very disappointing and I felt that my riding was not good enough. I can't really explain it because I've had a really good week. I was more than ready for this Grand Prix. We are now going to work hard again and we will try to recover next weekend during the Latvian Grand Prix."
