Marek is the boss of Lowlanders in Slovakia
The second race of the European Championship 85cc North-West was won by Vitezslav Marek. The Czech managed to win both heats on the Velke Uhere circuit. In addition to the 13-year-old rider, Mick Kennedy (7-2) and Gyan Doensen (5-3) were on the podium. The best Belgian was Jarne Bervoets (3-9), he finished fifth behind Yamaha colleague Jayson van Drunen (6-4).
1e some
The first heat is won by a large margin by Marek. The KTM rider is followed by six Lowlanders! Kooiker crosses the finish line second ahead of Jarne Bervoets, Ian Ampooter, Gyan Doensen, Jayson van Drunen and Mick Kennedy. Dean Gregoire crosses the finish line ninth. Lotte van Drunen has decided a nice battle for second place with Kooiker in her favor, but in the last lap she has bad luck. She gets a stone stuck in the chain, causing it to fall off. She manages to put the chain back on and cross the finish line in fifteenth place!
2e some
Also during the second round it is Marek who manages to gain the maximum number of points. Kennedy crosses the finish line second, the Motocross AAD rider is followed by Doensen. Jayson van Drunen is now good for fourth place, followed by Lotte van Drunen. Gregoire is now good for a neat seventh place and Bervoets comes in ninth. Douwe Van Mechgelen now completes the top ten. Unfortunately, Kooiker will not reach the finish now.
Next time:
The third and final race of the 'championship' will be held next week in the Czech Republic.
