Jeffrey Herlings: “No regrets”
He had to let Loket pass him by, but Jeffrey Herlings will definitely start in the 6th GP of the year. The heavy sand of Lommel is a horror for any rider, let alone competing in an MXGP with a broken shoulder blade. However, during the timed training, 'the Bullet' set an impressive one second time down.
“Let's try to do the unthinkable,” Herlings announced yesterday his participation in the MXGP of Flanders. After his training yesterday, the left shoulder still felt sore. That was no obstacle for the four-time world champion to take his chance.
“It's still a bit painful,” he wrote on his team's Instagram page. “I'm currently fifty points behind in the championship so it's all about limiting damage. We have four weeks to fully recover before we go to Turkey. I'm just going to do my best and concentrate on the second half of the races to get points. Lommel is a job that suits me and I want to at least try it. Then I don't have to have any regrets for the rest of the championship.”
