The restart of the ONK is in Boekel
Next weekend the KNMV Open Dutch Championship will continue in Boekel. The youth are not yet in action, but from 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and the Ladies are behind the starting gate again. We look ahead to the competitions at 'Circuit Bezuidenhout'.
The ONK125cc and ONK Women will be in action on Saturday. In the lightest class, Ivano van Erp is in the lead ahead of Bradley Mesters and Mirco ten Kate (photo). Scott Smulders won the first race in Arnhem, but in Halle he did not finish the second race. The BT Racing rider is currently leading the ADAC Junior Cup 125cc. Will he go all out next Saturday or will he save himself for the last two ADAC matches?
For the Ladies, Lynn Valk occupies the leading position after her double in Axel. The Husqvarna rider is followed by Britt Jans-Beken and Shana van der Vlist. Last weekend the Apeldoorn native won the EMX Women title and she is in the lead in the World Championship. In Boekel the KTM rider will only settle for the maximum. Jans-Beken (photo) has already shown that he has joined the top.
The Italian Andrea Bonacorsi is in the lead in the ONK250, but the Yamaha rider is not on the list of participants for Boekel. Teammate Dave Kooiker is on it and he will try to take over the lead in the standings. Kooiker is followed by Kjell Verbruggen by just one point. Notable names on the list of participants are Mathys Boisrame and his Danish F&H Racing colleague Mikkel Haarup.
During the first race of the season in Arnhem, Jeffrey Herlings won both heats. The KTM rider will also be on the participants list next Sunday, after all it is a home race for 'The Bullet' who grew up close to the circuit. Brian Bogers currently occupies second place in the standings ahead of Maxi Nagl, but both are not present at MC Boekel.
