Marcel Conijn looks back on Kegums
The fourth EMX250 round did not go smoothly for Marcel Conijn (Mulders Motoren KTM). Conijn only scored in the first heat on the Kegums circuit. Here the rider from Terschelling looks back on both heats.
Marcel Conijn: “It didn't go so well in the timed training, I had difficulty finding the right lines, so I couldn't get further than the 25th fastest time. The start of the first heat was reasonable, but I made a mistake that allowed me to start the race in 19th position. After that, luckily my riding got better and better, so I managed to get back to eleventh place. In the second moto I was involved in a crash with four or five other riders. I was able to continue, but the next slide prevented me from finishing the second heat.”
Marcel was positively noticed in Kegums by his sportsmanship. See below how Conijn (#32) frees the Italian Yuri Quarti from under his motorcycle.
