Jaap Janssen very satisfied with Lommel
One of the many Dutch people who took action last weekend during the second race of the European 2 Stroke Championship was Jaap Janssen. The KTM rider did not have optimal preparation, but he managed to score well. Janssen finished seventh and ninth during the heat on the Lommel circuit. This made him seventh in the daily rankings and here he tells his story.
Jaap Janssen:
Since February I had only ridden the 2-stroke KTM twice so the preparation was not great. Still, I immediately felt comfortable on the bike. On Friday we noticed a problem with the rear suspension, which meant that a completely different suspension set had to be used. Thanks to Maurice from BUXUR Suspension, the problem was resolved immediately and the race subsequently went well. In the timed training I was able to drive a good lap, which allowed me to pick a plate behind the starting gate in ninth place. The first start was reasonable, but from fifteenth place I had to come back. I quickly managed to get to ninth place, but that was the maximum. I got a better start in the second moto and was in sixth place after a few laps. Then I made a mistake that caused me to fall. I lost place but luckily I managed to come back but seventh place not far behind the sixth man. All in all, very satisfied with the driving and scoring points.”
