Karssemakers and Smulders in the top four
With a hard-fought third place, Kay Karssemakers (photo) scored well during the first round of the EMX125 on the Maggiora circuit. Scott Smulders also did very well with a fourth place during the second race of the European 125cc Championship. Sacha Coenen seemed to cross the finish line in third place for a long time, but the Kawasaki rider crashed hard. The victory went to Hakon Osterhagen, the Norwegian won by a wide margin over Valerio Lata.
In addition to Karrsemakers and Smulders, Lucas Coenen (11th) and Ivano van Erp (14th) managed to get into the points. Unfortunately, Sem de Lange (21st) is not rewarded for his efforts. Bradley Mesters (24th), Baptiste Beernaert (26th) and Danny van den Bosse (35th) do not score.
