Jeremy Seewer extends contract for two years
In Maggiora, Jeremy Seewer signed a new contract with Yamaha. Seewer will therefore remain in post for the Yamaha factory team until the end of 2023. The 26-year-old is currently in his fourth season in MXGP. In 2019 and 2020 he won the vice world title. Seewer currently occupies sixth place in the standings.
Jeremy Seewer: “It's great to stay with Yamaha for a few more years. I never thought I would build such a great relationship with a brand in such a short time, since 2018. Moreover, I quickly switched to the Yamaha factory team, where I have been for two years now, and now there is the contract extension until 2023. It feels really good to have a brand like Yamaha behind me. I'm happy about that. I feel so good in this environment, I have the right people around me. This way we can weather everything, both good and bad, we can handle everything that comes our way, and that gives me extra confidence.”
Alexander Kowalski: “We are very happy to continue with Jeremy. He has already proven himself to be a great rider who regularly competes for the MXGP podium. He knows the team; he knows the engine and the entire research and development department. We are all close to him and are confident that we are on our way to even greater success. That's exciting for both Yamaha and Jeremy. After four seasons with Jeremy, you immediately notice that he is a trusted member of the Yamaha family. We have the same spirit and the same goals, and we believe that together we can continue to work towards the MXGP world title.”
