Davey Janssen scores at EMX return
After six years, Davey Janssen returned to the international Grand Prix paddock. The Brabander came into action last weekend during the second match of the European Open Championship. The Team Gasdevil-Omnius Truckparts driver scored five points on the 'De Witte Ruijsheuvel' circuit in Oss. The victory went to compatriot Micha Boy de Waal, the Frenchman Nicolas Dercourt is the leader in the standings.
1st heat:
In 2015, the Gemert rider competed in the EMX 2 Stroke, so it was not unknown territory for Davey during the second EMX Open of the season. This soon became clear because in the timed training he managed to record the 16th fastest time. As a result, he managed to gain a good starting position to enter the competitions with confidence. Davey starts the first round in midfield, but he soon manages to make up places. Finding the right rhythm is not possible, but continuing to work hard ensures that the WLM Design employee reaches the finish line. A neat sixteenth place earns five points.
2st heat:
Later in the afternoon the race of 25 minutes and two laps went less well. The Yamaha rider does not get off to a good start and subsequently loses the clutch. Still, Davey tries to fight through the match, but after 15 minutes the match ends prematurely.
Next time:
Next weekend the third EMX Open will be held at the Loket circuit in the Czech Republic. Afterwards there will be competitions in Latvia and Turkey! These competitions are not on the program for the Gasdevil-Omnius Truckparts Team. Davey will be back in action on August 15 at the Mol-Balen circuit. A competition of the Belgian Championship will be held there on the famous 'Keiheuvel'.
