Winner Tom Vialle speaks after victory
No one could match Tom Vialle, the Frenchman won both heats like a true champion. The KTM rider was satisfied and his teammate Rene Hofer can also look back on a good race. Mattia Gaudagnini has to work on his starts, here the trio looks back on the first GP of the season.
Tom Vialle:
“It was a very nice day today! I had a great weekend and I really enjoyed the course. We have had a good winter and it paid off today. Two great starts and the work of the team was great, I am very grateful for that.”
Rene Hofer:
“This is definitely a good start to the season. I didn't have a good start during the first moto, but on the first lap I managed to improve from eleventh to sixth place. I rode quite well in the first half of the race but then I started having problems with my forearms. I had to do everything I could to secure fifth place
to keep it, but it worked. A holeshot in the second moto! But a small mistake dropped me back to third place. I was able to keep up with Fernandez until he crashed. I made time on Tom, so the middle of the race was really good. Some small mistakes allowed Boisrame to catch me and then I went down with Fernandez on the last lap. Too bad, but I'm still happy to finish in the top five in the first GP. There are still many opportunities to get on that podium.”
Mattia Gaudagnini:
“Not the best but certainly not a bad start to the Grand Prix season. My starts weren't great, so we have to work on that. They gave me a difficult day! I'm quite happy with my riding and the lap times were quite good. We can only get better from here. I came fourth in time training, so that was positive, but I have to do better in the competitions.”
