Positive dress rehearsal for Henry Jacobi
Henry Jacobi (JM Honda Racing) finished in the top ten in the strong first race of the French Championship in Ernée. Jacobi rode two consistent motos but had to drop the pace in the first moto due to pumped up arms. In the second moto the rhythm was better, so he finished ninth in the day's results with a 12-7 in the motos.
The Ernée circuit was perfectly prepared and is a circuit like the ones presented to the drivers in the world championship. The conditions were perfect and this was a good final test before the World Cup starts next weekend in Russia. The speed was immediately good and this ensured that Jacobi managed to set a good sixth time in his group in the time training.
In the first moto Jacobi got away reasonably well at the start and was able to start the race in around tenth place. ''I was able to gain a few places in the initial phase, but then I suffered from inflated arms, which meant I had to let a number of riders pass. I could hardly hold the handlebars anymore, but I know that this is part of the first few races. I persevered and managed to cross the finish line in twelfth position." says Henry.
In the second moto he got a similar start to the first moto, but this time the feeling on the track was better. “As the race progressed it started to go better and I found good lines. I had a nice battle with Olsen for seventh place and I managed to decide it in my favor. It was a positive race and I'm ready for Russia."
With a 12-7 in the heats, Jacobi finished in ninth place in the overall standings. This week he will complete a number of training sessions before traveling to the first GP in Russia.
