Osterhagen wins, Coenen and Karssemakers in the top seven
The first heat during the opening race of the European 125cc Championship was won by Hakon Osterhagen. The 17-year-old Norwegian trained the fastest but did not get off to a very good start. Still, the Fantic rider quickly moved into the lead to dominate the race. Marc-Antoine Rossi comes second after Bobby Bruce crashes in the closing stages of this moto. Sacha Coenen took fourth place ahead of Ferruccio Zanchi. With a seventh place in Kay Karssemakers, the best KNMV rider.
Scott Smulders (12th) and Ivano van Erp (17th) also score. Danny van den Bosse (21st) remains just outside the points. Damian Knuiman takes 29th place and Nicolas Vennekens crosses the finish line in 34th. Bradley Mesters, Cas Valk and Lucas Coenen do not reach the finish.
