New classes for Future MX Team
It took a while, but the KNMV Open Dutch Youth Championship has finally started. The Future MX Team traveled to Delfzijl where the first points were distributed. For both Kash van Hamond and Ruben van Hoof this meant the introduction to a new class. Kash finished sixth, Ruben had to settle for 30th.

Kash quickly found his way on the well-prepared circuit of MC Delfcross. The student managed to qualify third for both heats. The starts have not yet gone completely smoothly and that means that a catch-up race has to be driven. From fifteenth place in the first corner, Kash works his way forward. In the second laps he enters the top ten and halfway through this heat he takes over fifth place. Just before the sign of the last round, a position can still be won. Kash crosses the finish line in fourth.
Unfortunately, the start of the second heat is not much better. Thanks to some very clever steering, the rider from Best managed to come out of the first round in sixth place. A little later, fifth place can be taken over to finish fourth in the second round. Then, in his haste, Kash makes a mistake that causes him to fall. Fortunately, the race can be continued and the Alpinestars-clad rider moves from 15th place to ninth place when the checkered flag falls.

After winning the 85cc Small Wheels title, Ruben van Hoof switched to the Big Wheels. The tension is palpable for everyone and due to the necessary red flag situations, the first heat will not be held until 15:30 PM. Ruben's start is not good, so he starts the match in the backfield. A crash in the first round obviously doesn't do him any good. From 39th position, the rider from Sint Oedenrode recovered to 32nd place. A flat tire causes problems in the final phase, causing Ruben to finish 35th.
Fortunately, the second heat starts much better and Ruben comes out of the first round in 20th place. A position is quickly won, but a little later a colleague passes by. The 20th place can be held for the first half of the race, but then the candle slowly goes out. The long day and the tension takes over and Ruben drops back to 29th place.
