Mathias Van Hoof dislocates hip during training
Belgian enduro rider Mathias Van Hoof (Husqvarna Belgium) is looking at a long period of inactivity. On Tuesday he had a serious fall during training. He dislocated his hip. That same evening, the World Cup Open vice champion had surgery in Antwerp to put the hip back in place.
Although Van Hoof would not compete in the EnduroGP this year, he was looking forward to a busy summer. The ex-BMX rider was keen to shine in the Belgian Prestige Championship and the ISDE in Italy was also on his programme. In 2019, the Belgian World Trophy team finished 10th in Portugal.
“At the moment I am still in a lot of pain, fortunately there are no complications. We keep fighting and don't give up,” said Van Hoof from his hospital bed. The MXMag editorial team wishes Mathias a speedy recovery.
