Lapucci the strongest, Elzinga the best Lowlander
Nicholas Lapucci won the first heat of the first race of the European 250cc Championship on the fantastic Matterley Basin circuit. The 22-year-old rider managed to take the lead on the first lap and then rode a lonely race. Behind the Italian we see no fewer than three Norwegians, with 19-year-old Cornelius Toendel as the best man. The Riley Racing driver crosses the finish line second ahead of Kevin Horgmo and Hakon Fredriksen. The top five is completed by 15-year-old Maxime Grau who competes for the Rockstar Energy-Husqvarna-Nestaat MX.
The best Laaglander is Rick Elzinga, the TBS rider crosses the finish line in eleventh place ahead of Liam Everts. Unfortunately, the other Dutch did not manage to score. Dave Kooiker (25th), Raf Meuwissen (28th), Marcel Conijn (34th) and Jens Walvoort (36th) do not get into the points.
