Boisrame on pole ahead of Van de Moosdijk, Geerts 21st
In a sunny Orlyonok, Mathys Boisrame took the first pole position of the season. The Kawasaki rider was the fastest man ahead of teammate Roan van de Moosdijk and Husqvarna rider Jed Beaton. Mattia Guadagnini performed well with a fourth fastest time and Maxime Renaux trained in fifth.
Reigning world champion Tom Vialle finished ninth after several fast laps, but that happened more often last year. Debutant Kay de Wolf achieved a neat fifteenth fastest time. It seems to be a tough day for Jago Geerts, the Yamaha rider cannot get further than the 21st fastest time.
