Boyd and Peer Verhees win kids & sidecars competition Utrecht!
The Verhees brothers managed to win the first youth sidecar cross competition for the Dutch title today in Utrecht. Team Barink/Barink came second and Derksen/Vincent were able to climb the podium as third.
The first competition at the Kids and Sidecars was convincingly won by Peer and Boyd Verhees. She grabbed the holeshot in the first moto and never gave up that first place. She once again took first place at the finish in the second heat. The Barink brothers finished second in the second heat after having had to fight hard in the first heat for fourth place. Barink/Barink had a bad start in that first heat and had to come from behind. The neatly driving Jaydee and Fayenn van Elst and Sem and Davy van Kruisbergen were passed quite quickly by team Barrink. This was followed by a number of fierce battles with, among others, the ladies Rene and Robbin Schuurman, who did not allow themselves to be sidelined. Sten v.d. Heuij, who took the place of the injured Damian Pastoor, managed with Kaj v.d. Berg was also just not able to stay ahead of Barink and had to leave fourth place to Barink/Barink. Derksen/Vincent were able to stay ahead of the tight driving team Barink and finished third in the first heat. With a fourth place from the second heat, Derksen/Vincent scored a total of third place in the day's results and were the last to climb the podium. After the first heat, Janssen/Vincent seemed on course for the podium with a second place at the finish. In the second heat, however, they unfortunately dropped out after a number of laps, meaning that a good ranking would go up in smoke.
