Kay De Wolf's resounding series victory in Uddevalla
After setting the fastest time in his group, Kay De Wolf (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) impressed in the first MX2 round. Simon Längenfelder took the holeshot, but De Wolf quickly passed him and rode convincingly to victory. Liam Everts came back very strong after a poor start. He eventually finished fourth.
For a moment it seemed as if home rider Isak Gifting would take on De Wolf. However, the GasGas factory rider was unable to close the gap with the Dutch top talent. After all, Kay won by almost 15 seconds. From outside the top 10, Liam Everts - 3rd in his group during timed training this morning - came back nicely, finishing behind the factory trio De Wolf – Gifting – Hofer.
Dave Kooiker also performed well in the Glimminge Motor Stadium. The Hutten Metaal Racing Yamaha rider rode a regular race and finished 10th. De Wolf's teammate Jed Beaton was also in the top 5 but had to leave the race early due to technical problems.
