No BK classic car cross this year, but a BOTC Cup 2021
The consultation committee previously decided that outdoor sports activities can be done from July 1 under two conditions: fewer than 500 patients in the intensive care unit of Belgian hospitals and that 6 in 10 adults have had their first vaccine. It looks like we will reach these thresholds which will allow motocross competitions to become a reality with a maximum number of 2500 people at the event.
However, there are also local formalities that require a permit to be issued by the municipal authorities at short notice. The question remains whether this will work in all cases. There is also uncertainty about whether a party tent may be placed at the event and, if so, which corona rules regarding social distancing and bubbles apply?
There are therefore many uncertainties, which has led to the unanimous decision not to organize the BK classic car cross in 2021. The number of matches that could be part of the competition is so uncertain that an orderly BC was not feasible. That is why this year there will be an alternative called BOTC Cup 2021. This alternative competition serves to make the transition to a normal situation again in 2022. Our colleagues from MXVintage will tell you more about it in their article about this item.
