Evgeny Bobryshev and Conrad Mewse win in Culham
Today the first race of the British Championship was held on the fast circuit of Culham MX Park near Oxford. The Russian Bobryshev won both series of the MX1 while Mewse in the MX2 only needed a first and second place for the victory.
In the MX2, the first series was stopped after one lap due to a fall by Bas Vaessen. The medical services were called to care for the Dutchman. We currently have no news about Bas's condition. After an hour there was a restart with Steven Clarke taking the lead for Mewse. After one lap, Liam Everts came last after a crash, but fought back to 15th place. Mewse won the series ahead of John Adamson and Wilson Todd. The latter won the second series ahead of Mewse. Everts would not compete again in this heat because he hurt his hand during the fall in the first heat.
Evgeny Bobryshev was the strongest rider in both series of the MX1 class. Each time he had to compete with Dylan Walsh and Tommy Searle. They were also allowed to climb the stage in that order. Adam Sterry finished fourth in the final standings ahead of Harri Kullas. The second race for the British Championship is on May 15 and 16 in Foxhill.
