Eddie Jay Wade released from hospital
The third race of the MX Elite Campeonato de Espana in Calatayud did not go well for Eddie Jay Wade. The Briton had a serious fall and was subsequently hit by a car. Thanks to immediate action by the medical team on the circuit and care in the hospital, the KTM rider is on the mend. Wade suffered broken vertebrae, broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder and a punctured lung. The VRT rider will certainly have to miss the first race of the European 250cc Championship in Matterley Basin.
“Eddie was released from hospital earlier this week with three broken vertebrae, broken ribs, a damaged shoulder and a punctured lung. He will have follow-up tests in four weeks to see how everything is healing. Depending on that, he probably has another 3 or 4 weeks of rest. He should be back mid or end of the season. It's such a shame because it showed good speed. He was unlucky enough to come out of the corner second when he made a mistake. The entire starting field followed and the other rider could not avoid him.” said team boss Mickael Vrignon.
