Eli Tomac lost his title, here is his story
The title is gone, Eli Tomac had to defend his title but the Kawasaki rider had no chance against Cooper Webb this year. During the final race of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, Tomac did not get further than ninth place. Here he reflects on Salt Lake City 2.
So Tomac:
“The circuit was very slippery in the morning but luckily it got better and better as the day progressed. I got off to a good start in my heat race, allowing me to gain a small lead after taking the lead. That gave me confidence for the final, but it didn't go as well. Unfortunately I didn't have the best start and was cut off at the front by the riders. I got into midfield and it was very difficult to get through. Of course, a small slide didn't do my progress any good. Ninth place is not how we wanted to end the season. While winning is always the goal, I am very proud to finish third in the 450SX Championship standings. I am really looking forward to the Nationals starting later this month in Pala.”
