From the last chance to the podium
The fourteenth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship was intense for Jason Anderson. He had to qualify for the final via the 'last chance' and then finished third. The entire Rockstar Energy-Husqvarna Factory Racing Team USA tells their story after Atlanta 2.
Jason Anderson
“Today was quite stressful. It started really well and I felt like everything was going smoothly. Things went wrong in the heat race, so I had to go to the final via the last chance. Despite the starting position I had a good start and things were going well until I made a mistake. Fortunately I managed to come back, although I was a little short on energy at the end. The speed is good and that gives me confidence for the other races.”
Dean Wilson
“I rode very well today, especially after missing the final during the previous race. I was happy with second place in the heat and in the final I had a pretty good start. The first half of the match was good but after that it became increasingly difficult. If we can improve in the second half I could get into the top five, I would be happy with that.”
Jalek Swoll
“This was not the result we wanted, although I must say the driving was good today. I made a lot of progress after crashing in the early stages. I feel like the speed was good, so that's positive, we'll come back here in three days to try again.”
Stilez Robertson
“Definitely not the day I was hoping for! I crashed hard in the first training. I still managed to qualify seventh, but in consultation with the team it was decided not to compete anymore. We are going to recover for Saturday and I hope to score well!”
