Tim Gajser wins first series in Maggiora
The Slovenian Tim Gajser won the first series in Maggiora with two fingers. The circuit was very wet, but that was no problem for Gajser who took the holeshot and drove away from the competition.
Beta rider Jeremy Van Horebeek had a good start in third place and was able to quickly make up a place. However, threatening Gajser was not an option because due to the muddy conditions there was only one good line to ride on. Halfway through, Tim Gajser had a hot moment when he jumped on a straggler. He was able to continue his way, but the doubled rider had to give up. Gajser won the series ahead of Van Horebeek and Alberto Forato. David Philippaerts rode to a very creditable fourth place as a veteran. The other, even older, veteran Alessio Chiodi finished sixteenth.
