Ken Bengtson wins in Sweden, Liam Everts finishes seventh
The first day of the Swedish championship was held today in Saxtorp. The MX2 race was won by the Swede Ken Bengtson, but Liam Everts might have imagined his day differently.
In the first series Everts started around tenth place and systematically worked his way to the front. In his attempt to take third place, he fell in a corner and also took an advancing Isak Gifting with him in his fall. Everts was able to continue quickly and finished seventh.
In the second series Everts crashed in the first corner and had to continue with a damaged KTM. He was able to leave again from the 34th place and fought back to seventh place. That's quite a feat if you know that he spent the entire second series with a broken front brake and a stuck throttle. This time Isak Gifting was able to win the heat. Sixth place was enough for Bengtson to win the day.
In the MX1 class, Anton Gole won both heats, Alvin östlund finished third in the final standings. Tomorrow there will be another match for the Swedish championship at the same location. You can also watch this race live here on MXMag.
