Webb beats Roczen in a beautiful match
In a beautiful fight, Cooper Webb made us forget his bad performance last Tuesday. The KTM rider won the fifteenth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. In the final, the former champion managed to win ahead of rivals Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac. The difference between Webb and Roczen is now thirteen points, Tomac follows 24 points behind the German.
In the final, Aaron Plessinger gets the best start ahead of Roczen, Dylan Ferrandis and Jason Anderson. Because Webb comes out of the first corner in fifth position, all the pressure is on his shoulders! The KTM rider quickly manages to get past Anderson and Ferrandis and it's a good thing that these riders then crash together! Webb looks for a connection with Roczen and that is the moment for the Honda rider to attack Plessinger. With success because Roczen takes over the lead. Webb moves into second place but he has no answer to his rival's pace. When the lead has increased to eleven seconds, Roczen makes a mistake on the washboard! Webb regains the connection and three minutes before the end he takes the lead. Roczen still fights back, but regaining the lead is no longer possible. Tomac finishes third ahead of Plessinger and Justin Barcia.
The championship continues next Saturday in Salt Lake City and a week later is the grand final!
