Update MX master plan: explanation of payment system as of April 1
Dear motorsport athlete,
We are heading towards the final week for the introduction of the payment system for free training for motocross, as part of the MX master plan. I would be happy to inform you about the exact operation of the system.
Payment system via KNMV app
From April 1, 2021, every license holder must pay two euros for the MX master plan for free training on a cross circuit. Your contribution goes into the national pot for the MX master plan. This is used to finance licensing processes, yellow flag systems, etc. at cross circuits throughout the country. This investment from clubs, riders and the KNMV is necessary to maintain the extensive network of cross circuits in the Netherlands.
You can read how the system will work from April 1 in the explanation below. If necessary, you will also find a detailed explanation with screenshots here on knmv.nl.
The KNMV app must be updated once. This is possible from Wednesday, March 31, 2021 and must be done from April 1 before you can book a free training. Depending on the settings of your phone, this update may happen automatically. In that case, you will see the new 'Book training directly' button in the KNMV app (in the 'Discover' tab).
If this is not the case, you will have to update manually. To do this, go to the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) on your phone. Search for 'KNMV' and perform the update. After the update, you must log in to the KNMV app again with your license number and password.
1. As always, register with a club for a free training session.
2. On the day of the planned training, open the KNMV app. In the 'Discover' tab, use the 'Book training directly' button. Please note: this should only be done on the day of the training!
3. You are now on the 'Book training' screen. Search here by city name or club name for the track where you are registered (in step 1) for a training on the same day. Handy: your last selected circuits will eventually be listed.
4. After choosing a circuit, you will receive confirmation of the location and date of the training. Make sure they are correct. Below you can choose to pay with 'iDeal' (bank account) or 'Bancontact' (credit card). In the example we pay with iDeal.
5. Choose your bank. iDeal then gives you the choice to pay with a bank reader and debit card or via your bank's app.
6. After payment via iDeal or Bancontact you will always be sent back to the KNMV app. At the bottom of the KNMV app, select the 'Passes' tab. You will first see your license there. Swipe right and you will now see confirmation of the training you booked. This is also confirmation that your contribution to the MX master plan has been paid.
7. As always, show your license at the club. This can be found in the KNMV app, in the 'Passes' tab. Then swipe to the right to also show the confirmation (mentioned in step 6).
8. Have fun and good luck during your free training!
“If we do NX, MX will disappear”
I would like to emphasize once again what we are doing this for together. We must prevent the Netherlands from ending up like, for example, Belgium. There are only a handful of circuits left, due to increasingly strict requirements (for noise and emissions) and pressure from society. The pressure on cross-country riding is also increasing in the Netherlands, while social support is decreasing. CO2030 emissions must be reduced by 2 percent by 49. If, as a club, you do not have the correct permits, you have a problem as a 'polluter and noise maker'. '2030 is still a long time away!', 'things can't go that fast!'... If only that were the case. But if we do not intervene together now, many circuits will soon disappear in the Netherlands too.
The permits and zoning plan are now in order at less than twenty percent of Dutch circuits. For everyone else, this really needs to be arranged in the coming years. This is an expensive and long process that requires a lot of expertise. That is why the MX master plan is necessary: 'if we do NX, MX will disappear'.
On to April 1
On Wednesday, March 31, you will receive a reminder by email with another explanation of the system. From that moment on, the KNMV app can also be updated. On Thursday, April 1, you will receive a notification on your phone via the KNMV app (if you have enabled this function) that the payment system has been activated.
If you have any questions, comments, ideas or other input for the MX master plan, you can always contact us at sport@knmv.nl. We will always contact you.
Yours faithfully,
Camiel van Berkesteijn
