Seth Hammaker celebrates his first victory
In just his third race of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast, Seth Hammaker has taken his first win. The Kawasaki rider took the best start in Arlington and never relinquished the lead. Hunter Lawrence finished second ahead of Cameron McAdoo, who extended his lead in the standings. Justin Cooper finished fourth and is now six points behind the leader.
With a great start, Hammaker immediately takes the lead ahead of Stilez Robertson, Jalek Swoll and Jordon Smith. The latter quickly manages to pass the Husqvarna riders and follows his teammate when he tries to gain distance. Lawrence has now taken third place and he knows how to improve this position. Smith tries to take the lead but makes a mistake that sends him off the track. Lawrence takes over second place, but leader Hammaker is no longer within reach. Lawrence finishes second while title rivals Cooper and McAdoo battle for third place. After 20 minutes of racing, the Yamaha rider briefly takes over this position, but McAdoo quickly returns. In the last round, Cooper tries again, but it goes wrong and the winner of the first race falls. Cooper still crosses the finish line in fourth ahead of Garrett Marchbanks
The points will be distributed again next Wednesday morning in Arlington.
