WLM Design with new blood but the same DNA
As of March 15, WLM Design has come into new hands. With this takeover, Rian de Bruyn and Joost van den Elsen provide new blood but retain the same DNA. This guarantees the continuity of the beautiful company that was started more than 20 years ago by Wisja Lamers and Imka Kooijmans. The WLM Design brand therefore remains clearly present on the various motocross circuits and BMX tracks.
The right click
“What started with a conversation about collaboration led to the takeover of WLM in a few months,” Rian begins. “There was an immediate click and during the first conversation Wisja indicated that due to his health he was forced to look for a takeover candidate and we saw the right candidates.” Joost adds: “If you have the opportunity to take over such a beautiful brand, you should not hesitate for too long and go for it. Together with Rian I am developing a Racing lifestyle brand that we will launch next month, WLM fits in perfectly with that”
Rian: “We have been working at WLM since January and have experienced that we really have a top team, people full of good ideas and skills and with quality first. Together we are committed to keeping WLM at the top of the game!”
Same quality from a new vision
With new captains at the helm, new ideas also come. “We are not going to change anything drastically, but we are going to listen carefully to the market and bring a breath of fresh air in terms of marketing. With our experience in design and online marketing, we will also redesign the webshop so that it becomes easier to order via this route. But we are not suddenly going to do everything differently, WLM is simply a strong brand and has a good name.” ends Joost.
About WLM
WLM has existed since 2000 and was founded by Wisja Lamers and Imka Kooijmans. Meanwhile, WLM is internationally leading for the quality of its products. Over the years, WLM has grown into a company with nine employees. WLM Design has a head office in Mill and a branch in Borgloon, Belgium, from which it serves markets throughout Europe. Extensive testing ensured that custom MX and BMX pants will be produced in-house from 2018. From then on, everything is produced in-house. WLM now counts several MXGP teams, BMX Team Netherlands of the KNWU and a wide range of professional and amateur riders among their customer base. Development and production will continue to take place from the beautiful new building in the Brabantse Mill.
