Lynn Valk has undergone minor surgery
Lynn Valk underwent minor surgery on her hand earlier this week. The Nijverdal resident had been struggling with 'carpal tunnel syndrome' for some time, which can be remedied by surgery. The complaints are caused by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. The carpal tunnel is a narrow canal formed by the carpal bones and a sturdy tendon between the little finger and the thumb at the beginning of the palm. This tunnel contains tendons that can be used to bend the fingers and the nerve.
The problem became increasingly worse in recent weeks and therefore the decision was made to have the intervention in consultation with the team. Despite the recovery period, the 18-year-old lady at Papendal can prepare herself very well physically for the coming season.
