Ken Roczen checks in Indianapolis!
The third and final race in Indianapolis was also won by Ken Roczen. The 26-year-old Honda rider takes his third victory of the season in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX. The German wins ahead of KTM riders Cooper Webb and Marvin Musquin! In the title fight, Roczen now has 16 points ahead of rival Webb and 24 ahead of reigning champion Eli Tomac, who is only seventh today!
In the final, Adam Cianciarulo seems to take the 'Holeshot Award' but Justin Barcia slips through. Roczen comes out of the first corner third, but in the sprint to second he already takes the lead! The GasGas driver does not easily give in and even goes on the attack. They hit each other, but fortunately they both remain on the motorcycle. Webb watches and when 'BamBam' makes a mistake, the 2019 champion takes over second place. Barcia collides with Vince Friese moments later, causing the winner of the first match to fall. This also causes problems for Tomac, who drops back to seventh place. At the front, Webb faces a maximum deficit of 2,5 seconds, but he gains momentum again in the final phase. The former MX2 world champion is not surprised and he wins his third in a row ahead of Webb and his teammate Musquin! A strong fourth place for Malcolm Stewart ahead of Cianciarulo.
The championship continues next week in Orlando.
