Calendar update: World Cup starts on May 23 in Oss!
In the corridors, mid-May has been put forward for some time as the new start of the MXGP season. Promoter Infront Moto Racing just released a new calendar. Oss will be the season opener on May 23.
Due to the ongoing problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Infront is forced to postpone the start of the Motocross World Championship. It was scheduled for April 3 in Oman, but has now been postponed until 2022. While the GPs of Italy, Portugal and Germany are being moved from April/May to October, Oss will have the honor of kicking off the event!
Other changes are:
- Two new locations for the Indonesian GPs: Borobudur and Bali
- New location for the Argentina GP
- New location for the MX of Nations
“The goal for this season is to finally welcome spectators again. And this in a safe and responsible manner. Therefore, we had to implement certain changes in response to the current evolution of the pandemic,” the press release said. The Belgian GP in Lommel retains its traditional date in early August.
