Justin Cooper gets the best out of the starting blocks
In Orlando, Justin Cooper won the first round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast. The Yamaha rider won at the Camping World Stadium ahead of Cameron McAdoo and Garrett Marchbanks. Not a good start to this championship for Jeremy Martin and his brother Alex Martin. The Yamaha riders crash and it remains to be seen whether they have remained injury free!
Things go wrong at the first start, Jeremy Martin finds himself under pressure and decides not to jump. Stilez Robertson does that and a massive crash ensues. Also Alex Martin, which means both are out of the fight early. A red flag follows and at the restart it is Cooper who takes the lead ahead of Jordon Smith. However, the Kawasaki rider makes a mistake, causing him to fall and also be eliminated from the race. His teammate McAdoo takes over second place but he never becomes dangerous for the 23-year-old leader. Marchbanks finishes third after pushing aside rookie Seth Hammaker. The Club MX rider had to make way at Team Pro Circuit to allow Hammaker to make his professional debut in 2021. Jalek Swoll finishes fourth ahead of Hunter Lawrence!
There will be no racing this coming weekend, the famous supercross of Daytona Beach will follow on March 6!
