Colt Nichols takes his third in a row
For example, you have to wait two years for a victory and then you win three in a row. That happens to Colt Nichols. The Yamaha rider also won the second race in the Lucas Oil Stadium after Indianapolis 1. Nichols won ahead of Christian Craig and Michael Mosiman. Jett Lawrence suffered a bad crash in training and the heat and did not play in the final.
In the final, Mosiman takes the best start ahead of Kevin Moranz and Thomas Do. Nichols comes out of the first corner in fourth ahead of his teammate Craig. Both quickly managed to work their way to second and third place respectively behind Mosiman. He manages to break away from the leader in the standings. When the GasGas driver has a lead of more than three seconds, things go wrong. Nichols takes control and he doesn't let it go. Craig manages to displace Mosiman from second place in the second half of the final. The TLD rider takes another podium place ahead of Jo Shimoda and Grant Harlan.
The third and final race of this triple will be held in Indianapolis next Saturday.
